Mid-Beach

Mid-Beach is Collins Avenue from Dade Boulevard at 23rd Street to 63rd Street: the stretch that made Miami Beach famous in the 1950s, when the Fontainebleau and Eden Roc opened on the ocean and the strip became Millionaire's Row. The hotels are still there, restored, and the Faena District around 32nd Street has become the island's arts and dining anchor; behind them the beach boardwalk runs unbroken to South Beach.

Almost every residence is oceanfront. The 1960s towers — the Alexander, Carriage House, Castle Beach Club, the Pavilion and the two Seacoast buildings — are large, established buildings with some of the best-value oceanfront floor plans in Miami Beach. The Fontainebleau residential towers, MEI, the Bath Club and the Ritz-Carlton Residences on the bay side make up the newer, pricier end.

West of Collins, Indian Creek separates the towers from the golf course and the island enclaves of La Gorce and Allison Island, so the district is a long, thin ribbon: beach on one side, water on the other, and Lincoln Road and the 41st Street shops at either end.
