Miami Art Week is the first week of December, when Art Basel Miami Beach fills the Miami Beach Convention Center and a couple of dozen satellite fairs, museum openings, gallery nights and pop-up installations spread across the rest of the city. For six days the art world is here, and the city's geography suddenly matters in a way it does not the rest of the year: the fairs are on Miami Beach and the Design District, the galleries are in Wynwood and Allapattah, the museum shows are downtown, and the parties are wherever a hotel ballroom or a waterfront villa can be found.
That is why this page exists. Where you live during Art Week decides how much of it you see. A condo in the Design District walks to Design Miami and half a dozen gallery openings; a tower on the Beach is minutes from the Convention Center and the collateral fairs along Collins Avenue; Edgewater and Midtown sit between Wynwood and the Design District and can reach most things in ten minutes. Brickell and Downtown are close to the museums and the Miami Beach causeways, farther from the galleries. Sunny Isles and Aventura are lovely the other 51 weeks of the year.
We track every fair, exhibition, opening, installation and talk we can find on the official programs and the neighborhood calendars, place each one on the map, and give every condo building an Art Week Score from 0 to 100: how many exhibitions are within a mile, how close the nearest one is, how varied they are, and how far the building sits from a major fair. Buildings are ranked citywide and within their neighborhood. The list grows from October as programs are announced; check back closer to the week.

How this is computed
The Art Week Score (0–100) blends four measures for each building: proximity to the nearest exhibition (30%, full credit within 200 m, none beyond 2 miles), density (40%, exhibitions within one mile, saturating at 30), diversity (10%, how many distinct categories — fairs, galleries, installations, talks — are within a mile, saturating at five) and proximity to a major fair (20%, full credit within 400 m of Art Basel, Design Miami, Untitled, NADA, Scope, Art Miami and the other headline fairs, none beyond 3 miles).
Events come from the official Art Basel Miami Beach program, the Miami Art Week calendar, the Design District and Wynwood event calendars and a small set of web searches, re-checked twice a day from October until the week ends. Each venue is geocoded once; anything we cannot place confidently waits for a human before it counts. All distances are straight-line.
